High Five for Friday

FRIDAY!!! Oh how I have missed you!!  I just want to be home this weekend with nothing to do....I mean NOTHING (but what I want to do)!

I'm linking up with Lauren @From My Grey Desk for another H54F & here is what I'm high fivin' this week!

1.  My $3 manicure!  Sephora had some nail polish on clearance for $3 and I had to get it! and I love it! The picture does not do the color justice.  This is Burst of Mango Cream.

2. This week saw some beautiful days.  God has created such a beautiful world!!

3.  This is my THIRD water cup that I have dropped to the ground and broke. I think it may be a sign to find a different type of beverage holder to carry around. Suggestions anyone?  I particularly like ones with straws.

4.  They added new furniture to my office lobby and this lonesome chair is the only one of it's kind....AND I LOVE IT. I want to take it and put it in my office area!

5.  Do you ever have a day where you just need to "Bun" it?  Yeah, well, yesterday was that day. I have been so tired that I just couldn't get myself up early enough to do my hair....it went right up in a bun!

How was your week?  Leave me a comment, or a link, or both! =)

Tutorial Tuesday - Want Red Hair?

Guess what?! I dyed the underneath of my hair the beautiful red hair like Ariana Grande's the other day!  (see this post with her picture here)  Of course with the help of my best friend and my sister-in-law's smarts!

So for this week's tutorial I am going to let you in on a how to get the red hair you see on Ariana Grande from home!  You won't need to spend more than $6 bucks to do it either! =)  Haha Salons! We've gotcha now!!

Dying to know what OTC box of red for $6 and some change will give you her similar hair color? Drum roll please....

Garnier's Nutrisse Ultra Color in Medium Intense Auburn (if you want darker red there is the dark intense auburn, and if you want a lighter red there is light intense auburn)!

Dark Intense Auburn
Medium Intense Auburn

Light Intense Auburn

The best part about this hair color is that it is made specifically for those of us with really dark hair.  My sister-in-law and I both have darkest brown hair and it worked phenomenally for the both of us!

Let me know what you think of the red trend!  Also if you try this color send me pics of how it turns out!

PSDotCom if you want to go for Ariana's exact color I think the light intense auburn would be a better match!

Tresemme Dry Shampoo Review

So I have been desperate to find a dry shampoo to use since I went back to being a brunette (and 1/2 red head...post soon to come!) For some reason my hair looks really oily ever since I have made the change and  it can be rather embarrassing.  Before I used to shellac my hair in a pony tail or wave it....either way it doesn't really hide it all that well.

Then I saw the Tresemme "Dry Shampoo" commercial {sounds of bells...much like the ones you hear for angels...begin ringing in my head}  Have I finally found a solution to my dreaded hair problem?!?!?!  The next day I immediately bought it!  I was so hyped, super excited, and was hoping for the best!

The claims {straight from their website} "Transform limp, lifeless locks into healthy, full-bodied hair when you skip a shampoo. The Mineral Clay and Citrus formula removes oil and odor that weighs hair down, so you can have instant salon-quality volume without a drop of water."

I have used the Tresemme dry shampoo every other day for two weeks now and the result is....It doesn't work.  Boo!  So disappointed!

I noticed a difference for about 1-2 hours but after that it goes right back to being oily and gross looking.  No extra body...if anything it weighed it down.  However, it did make is smell beautiful.  So I guess that is a pro.

I was really pushing for you Tresemme...I really was!  But with all your claims and only one...which I find to be a low pro {smelling nice} not proving to be true, with my hair anyway, I find my $6 wasted. hmph!

Back to the drawing board!

I am curious, have any of you tried their new line of dry shampoo? What was your results? Or any recommendations for dry shampoo that any of you use that you LOVE?!?!

Fashion Friday - Let's Talk about Hair Baby!

Happy Fashion Friday revolutioniers!  This week I want to talk about Hair.  You know that thing that has good and bad days and can make or break how we feel about ourselves on those good and bad days!  It comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures and no matter what we always want to change it {well most of us anyway}! I have recently made it back to my roots.  Can you believe I'm not a natural born blonde? I know, I know, I had everyone fooled for the long time years I was a blonde momshell! ;) haha! j/k

Actually I am dark brown, wavy haired chick who constantly changes what I do to my hair....forgive me, I get bored.  Actually, I just made an appointment to add red to the underneath portion...yes, I am jumping on the band wagon.  Truthfully, I would love to dye my entire mane red {see Ariana Grande photo} but work may have a cow!  I could totally pull it off right?! {UPDATE: I dyed my hair partially Ariana Red see this Tutorial Tuesday post to see how I did it}

Recently Refinery29 posted 7 hair trends you must try before you die. {sidebar: do you follow them or check out the website??? if not you must b/c they are freakin' awesome!!} I myself have tried 6 out of the 7.

Here's the list:

High Five for Friday

PhotobucketEvery Friday I thank my lord for getting through another week of work and the other little blessings I had throughout the week.  Each Friday I see Lauren's {From My Grey Desk} High Five for Friday post and think "how awesome!" and "I really want to do that too!"  Then I thought, I already post a theme for Friday and that it's impossible.  Then I stopped listening to my brain [sometimes it tells me I can't do things, when I really can...mean brain!] and decided I am going to write two posts every Friday.  So I have decided to link up with Lauren and give you my High Five for Friday pics.

1.  My new kicks showed up on my little doorstep this week!  Had a $50 Groupon (that I purchased for $25!!!) to spend and with all the "working out" I have been doing lately new sneakers were definitely due! These are the Premier ZigFly Special Edition and so far they are pretty awesome!

2.  I found a new favorite breakfast!  Curves my appetite and is so yummy too! I wish they would make more flavors though...the other flavors include nuts...and well, I'm allergic so that is a no go!

3.  Rebecca Minkoff covered Call Me Maybe in probably one of the best YouTube remake videos I have seen...with the exception of the one my 7 y/o and her friend did earlier this week riding in a jeep! ;)  Everyone else is probably so sick of seeing & [hearing] Call Me Maybe but I just can't get enough!

4.  My Cover Girl lipstick in Temptress!  Oh how I have missed thee!  I found it shoved in to my console of my car! For weeks I have been wondering what I did with it!

5.  Dance is done. Done. DONE. At least for a couple of weeks.  Don't get me wrong I love that my daughter has found her passion at the young age of 7 but, at that young age, we moms do it all!  If I had to put makeup on and fix the hair of one more little girl for competitions, recital, and pictures one more time I was going to SCREAM!  A much needed break!  I'll be refreshed by the beginning of next season...thank goodness competitions don't start until January!  Whew!

How was your week? Did you have a lot of little blessings to be grateful for too? I would love to hear about them and I am sure Lauren would want you to linkup too!

P.S. Here's the full YouTube video just in case you missed it!

Top 3 Hair Care Products

Hi Everyone: So I have a hard time trying to find videos and information for those of us with short hair. So, I did a quick video on my top 3 hair care products that I use for having short hair.  I showcase just a couple of the products, but it is really the line of products that are the best.

First up is the Herbal Essences BODY ENVY products. You can find this at your local drugstore.  My Walmart has the big bottles for $5.00 but I always have a coupon for $1.00 off so I usually pick it up for $4.00/bottle.

Next is the Logics line of products.  I mostly use the thickining spray, but I do use alot of the other products as well.  Here is where you can find it online:  http://www.sleekhair.com/haircare-logics-by-matrix.html
The thickining spray has been discountinued but they have a new aerial liquid volume that works the same.  This stuff is rather expensive (the spray used to be $31.99) but it has lasted me a good long while.

Lastly, is my Rusk Wired flexible styling cream.  This product could be found here: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp58776/rusk/wired_flexible_styling_creme.htm for $9.52.  Love it!

Here is the video!

ENJOY!

xoxo
