Day Three!

So, I am home from work today because of the fun doctors appointments! You know you gotta make sure everything is working correctly (most important for us females). My doctor is so awesome! and a fun fact is that I was his first baby he delivered (a long time ago) and now he is my doctor! Isn't that amazing!

Anyway, after the doctors I decided to shop! I found some really cute Steve Madden shoes and tons of fun costume jewelry that was on clearance. A couple of weeks ago I learned that long necklaces make you look taller, and when your taller looking you tend to look slimmer too. I found that if I can make my eyes believe my body is more like the way I want it to look I will be more motivated to keep my inspiration going.

I have to say that I have been bad this morning. I was in such a rush to get out of the house in enough time to get to the doctors that I didn't eat breakfast. I did however; ate the banana that my daughter forgot to take with her to school. So that's good. But it cannot happen again! Breakfast is so important and coffee just won't do. My plans this afternoon is to get my workout out of the way early. My best friend got the Flirty Girl Fitness video and I am waiting to hear how good it is. I still absolutly love my Turbo Jam and think it is one of the best workout DVD's out there.

Besides the little bump in the breakfast road all is going well. Motivation is still going strong and I am continuing to revolutionize my life!

Day Two

Here is day two....Still going strong. I ate some cereal again this morning with milk and a banana for a snack. For lunch I had Vegetable & Rice soup from Progresso. It was the 0 fat kind and surprisingly it still had a good amount of flavor. I need to find some different things though. I know I will get bored here shortly with this stuff.

I am going walking/jogging on my treadmill tonight. My goal: 1.5 - 2 miles. We will see how it goes. I have the iPod doc on it so I will just stick it in and jam!

I am hoping to start posting vids soon of the different exercises that I do at home with free weights, a stability ball, and body bands. I hope that I can inspire some others to get healthy with me. It can be rather lonely, but working with at least one partner helps push us to find our goal that much quicker.

Day One

Today is starting off with a bang! I have managed to keep to the diet thus far, which can be very hard to do. I had a delicious 3/4 cup of cereal w/milk for breakfast and an apple for a snack. For lunch a downed a WW Smart One Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes. Then for my afternoon snack, peanut butter crakers! YUM. Dinner is a Guamanian Dish that has lots of broccoli and cauliflower. I have no idea how much calories are in one serving because it is a family recipe. I figure though, I will be working out afterwards so as long as I don't overeat I should be alright.

Okay, so here is how I am determining how many calories I should be eating: I was reading one of The Biggest Loser books that I obtained during one of my many failed diets, and in the book there is a formula you use to determine the caloric intake. Here it is:

Your Weight in LBS X 7 = Total Calories/Day

Then I know that I need to have lots of protein because it helps build muscle. I know that the least amount I should be having is 75 grams of protein.

Water is an issue for me however. I know that I should be drinking a lot more than I do. Someone told me that I should drink half my weight in ounces. AHHH! So I have made it in to a game. I drink one 16 ounce bottle right after my coffee and then one right after lunch. I will then drink one on my way home from work and then one at dinner time. Then my very last one will be when I work out.

Tonight is turbo jam night! Anyone who has never try this should it is one of the best work out videos there is out there! Chalene Johnson makes it so much fun and the music is pretty good. I know the routines rather well now though and so sometimes I will put my own tunes on and jam to them rather than the same ones over and over again.

Today is a NEW Revolution

Today, I am starting this blog to gain friends who will help empower me to get healthy in the 2010! My plan is not to set a specific goal weight but rather a specific goal size because we all know that it is more practical since muscle weighs more than fat. I am hoping that I can not only gain the empowerment from peers but also inspire others to join me. Weekends are my hardest but during the work week is when I do the most damage! Typical work day: Wake up, drink lots of coffee, get my kids to school, drive---a very long drive to work---, each breakfast about 3-4 hours after I wake up, each lunch, grab a snack (either from the snack machine, or out of my purse), then go home. There is no schedule to my eating and since we have a snack machine it is almost easier to go there than pack a healthy snack. I have tried shakes, pills, and almost every other diet possible! Now, I am going to do this the "normal" way! Which includes making healthier choices and working out. I have a gym membership it is time to use it!

Here is my current size, 10 Women's Petite or 11 Juniors. I would like to be a size 4-6 in Women's (and whatever the equivalent in Juniors).

Today begins Nicole's Revolution!

Here is to a healthy new decade! Happy 2010! Nic
