Fashion Friday - Boyfriend Jeans

Happy Good Friday!!! This week's Fashion Friday linkup is brought to you by....Bird....Yet again this little fashionista has inspired another one of my posts.  For me, I never would have even thought about "Boyfriend" jeans if it wasn't for her.  About a year ago we were shopping at Old Navy and she insisted on a couple of pairs of these types of jeans.

Now, they have become her staple piece of her wardrobe.  They are cute, comfy, and down right fabulous!  I love the bootcuts and skinny jeans, but after search and researching these style of jeans, I think I may have to invest in a pair...especially if I continue to get to my goal weight/size!  In fact, there is my incentive. 10 lbs and I will have to go purchase one of these little babies!

Here are some low cost and super cute options I put together using polyvore!

Fashion Friday - Back to School

Another round of Fashion Friday!  This week we have a back to school edition!

It's just over one week before my kids go back to school {I am jumping for joy here but don't tell my kids that!} If you are on the west coast it is my understanding that schools already in session! Lucky!

What I love to do is find ways incorporate the "Runway" look with the "Street" style!  This past Fall Fashion Week I saw a TON of prints....so here's what I came up with.

Back To School

First can I just say how much I love Boyfriend jeans!? Old Navy used to carry them for little girls but the last time I went (which was 2 weeks ago) I couldn't find any! Those, by far, are Bird's favorite pair of jeans she owns.  I don't know what I will do, I mean they are so comfortable and actually a pair of jeans that she will wear without complaining, I anxiety attack is starting to arise!  Get it together! I think I smell a project coming on!!

My favorite part about this look is the chic-ness of the jacket but the fun-ness of the top and wedges.  The cool stripped gray backpack lighten's the edge and gives some fun mixing of prints too!

Fashion Friday - S.A.A.

S.A.A.?! You say to yourself?  What the hell is this girl talking about!  She makes up words like "revolutioniers" and now she is creating acronyms?  She's Crazy! <---No I'm not yes I am slightly but that's okay!

Shoe Addicts Anonymous.

Yep, it is as simple as that.  My name is Nicole and I am addicted to shoes.  So addicted that I was put on a limit of 12 pairs per year. It doesn't matter how I obtain the 12 pairs either. So if they are gifted or bought...doesn't matter, they count against my number. Bummer right?!

Here's the thing, I just love them so much and I wear all of them! Not one pair is ever left out! EVER!!  So I don't see what the big deal is! My husband on the other hand does find it to be a big deal!  LAME!

These are my current fav's.  Of courses the Louboutin are my splurge pair that I may just need to invest in very soon!

Fashion Friday - Brighten Your Day

It's Fashion Friday TIME!!!  This week has been crazy and stressful and every other word you can think of.  Whenever I am down I try to boost my spirits with bright colors...specifically neon...Yep I like LOVE neon! Especially neon yellow and neon green.  Don't let me fool you either. I have always LOVED bright bold and exotic colors.  Not sure why, perhaps it is b/c I am a summer baby.

So here is a typical outfit I would wear in order to brighten my day {if I had the day off b/c unfortunately this is a no fly outfit for the office...boo! they need to lighten up or I need another job!}

Brighten Your Day

What about you?  What colors do you wear to brighten your day?  Share with me by linking in the comments! I would love to see what you come up with!

OH YEAH!  I'm thinking of making Fashion Friday a link Par-TAY!  What do you think?

Fashion Friday - A Tribute!

For this week's Fashion Friday I wanted to pay tribute my country since Wednesday is the fourth of July.  Of course I used Polyvore [again] for my creation and I have actually purchased most of these pieces.  I am a big supporter of our military, being that I once was a military wife....a LONG time ago, but we will not revisit that time right now. ;)  I am, however, not a huge fan of the whole "wearing the American flag" thing.  In fact I find it a little disrespectful, but that's just me and I have no problem with others who choose to wear their country's flag. In fact, I am sure they are wearing it b/c they are so proud of their country.  It's just not for me.

I love to take these holidays to mix prints and find ways to incorporate items that have meaning to the specific holiday.  Since the U.S. flag is red, white, & blue, and stars & stripes what better then to find prints that mimic those very things.  I knew I could count on good ol' Old Navy to give me what I needed; I always find exactly what I am looking for there!  Ugh, I love them so much I can't stand it!

This is something I could even wear to the office if I wanted too!  What do you think?  Would you wear it?

Fashion Friday - A Beachy Confession

It's time for Fashion Friday yet again.  This week the D.C. area (and pretty much everyone below Canada) has hit a HUGE heat wave!  When I say huge I mean HUGE!  99 degrees...and it isn't even JULY people!  Yesterday temperatures raised to a hundred degrees but.... felt more like 106-110 because of the horrible humidity!!!  Dumb D.C. area!  I love you but why must you be so stinkin' humid! [Thank goodness I am traveling to Maine again this summer for a little relief!]

This weather makes me long for the beach.  Dropping my toes in the water and soaking up some much needed sun to give my wintery skin a nice healthy glow (yes, I am aware there is some slight controversy over the sun but I am responsible and only spend time in the sun outside of the danger hours; 10-2).  I just love removing the sand from every crevice my tote bag and cooler!  So annoying!

I have, however, a confession to admit: (*Singing Usher's Confession song as I type...Old Skool BABY!*)

Although I love the beach, I rarely EVER get to go.  And I am never quite comfortable in a bathing suit since, well ever!  It's gotten worse since I had a baby!  Bikini's are a definite "NO GO!"  I haven't worn one since my belly started to show with my daughter over seven years ago.  Mostly, I usually wear Tankini's but they really feel weird lately and I am tired of feeling weird!  So I have been searching for a bathing suit that will be my "go to" suit for the summer and to my surprise I am falling in love with one piece suits.  This is very strange for me since I kind of always had some sort of bathing suit complex since my mom made me do the swim team as a kid.  [DISCLAIMER: There is nothing wrong with "swim team;" it was just wrong that I was "made" to do it and I hated everything about it including the swimwear!]  I digress...

I am loving that one piece suits are making a fierce comeback.  And they are actually cute, not like those ugly Speedo's!  *SHOCKER*  For Fashion Friday I put together another Polyvore creation of what is not only an adorable suit by Kenneth Cole [***ALERT: ON SALE FOR $50 at MACY'S!!!***] but a typical outfit I would show up to the beach with.  P.S. I LOVE Pink & GREEN!
