Fashion Friday - Spring Forward!

Happy Friday Revolutioniers!

I am so happy it's Friday you have no idea! What a jam packed week I had and the weekend is full of more!!  I have so much homework, housework, and just things to do in general and I have no idea how I will get it done!  Perserverance and motivation and I am sure I will achieve great things!  I am sure of it!!

So here in the DMV it has been so beautiful. My eyes haven't been as appreciative as I have been of this gorgeous weather with all the pollen whipping through the air. But nonetheless it is so pretty, yesterday temperatures rose to the 80's. Yeah, the 80's! Isn't that AWESOME!  This beautiful weather reminded me how much I long for the things that come with warmer weather, i.e. beautiful colors!!

This week I decided to put together another fashion template using another tee from LBDM.  In case you weren't aware, I won the blog challenge. That's right I won!! WOOHOO!!  I received my tee that I won from the contest last night and actually dressed it up a bit to wear it to work today.  Here is another tee that I loved from her Spring 2012 collection that I almost dressed up!  Please go pay her a visit! I am so in love with the Rebecca Minkoff outwear and the Marc by Marc Jacobs tote. Ok, Ok, I love pink and black together with some splashes of yellow.  Doesn't this just scream Spring?!

Motivational Monday-Don't Give Up!

It's that time of the week again! Motivational Monday!  Today is a short post b/c I have a little one who is under the weather.  I do want to say that I have been slacking on the exercise situation and have had a couple of bad days that have left me depressed and useless.  Have not fear, Pinterest has always got my back, yo! (I felt like I needed to put a "yo" in that sentence)

So, for this weeks Motivational post I am encouraging everyone to remember that we all have bad days and that it shouldn't make or break us for the rest of the week.  We need to pick ourselves up, remember our goals and determine our strengths. Our bad days do not define who we are or what we will do with ourselves.  We need to forgive ourselves for the mistakes made and forgive others who have made their mistakes.  We need to do better and encourage others to do the same. Lastly, we need to start over tomorrow refreshed and ready to take on the world! We will get there!

Fashion Friday - Paper Crown Fall 2012 Look Book

Hey Revolutioniers!

It's Fashion Friday!!  Today I want to focus on Lauren Conrad.  Yesterday her Fall 2012 Look Book was released and today I am going to give you my thoughts! I would love to hear yours!  I have loved Lauren FOREVER! She always had a keen sense of style, she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and totally real!

And, her Fall 2012 look book is just as fabulous as her!  There are lots of taupes and natural colors with a few bold colors to be incorporated.  I think her collection is very girly, which is typical of her, but she has a little something for us "bold fashion forward" types as well.

Of course I would be hooked on all the dresses b/c I love dresses! There is something so feminine about dresses that makes me feel so free and true to myself!  Here are some of my favorites from the collection.

Make Him Famous-KONY 2012

Hi Revolutioniers!

So today I am posting a not so typical blog post for me.  I am hoping that the majority of you reading this have heard of Joesph Kony and the movement to make him famous, not for the good, but to make him famous so we can gather the strentgh to apprehend him.  We MUST stop him!  I have made the pledge to Make Kony Famous and now I am sharing it with you in order to make sure you know about him and take the pledge.

Please watch this video made by the Invisible Children, Inc. to learn about the horrible acts that Kony has done to the people of Uganda and now moving throughout more of Africa. I know it seems long but it will keep your attention for the entire 29+ minutes.  It will also make you cry, but don't be afraid to. It is awful and we must stop him!

This video is right. If this were to happen in the U.S. it would be all over the news. I feel horrible that I knew nothing about this terrible man and what he has done to innocent children. As a mother I am asking you to share this video and make a pledge.  I purchased my action kit here and am already planning for 4/20/2012 in my area.

I encourage all of you to do the same.  Please MAKE KONY FAMOUS!!!

LBDM Spring 2012 X Nicole's Revolution

Good morning Revolutioniers!

As most of you have noticed I have now joined the CapFABB group! What is the CapFABB group you may ask?  Well, it is a group of Capital Area Fashion & Beauty Bloggers.  In other words we are representin' the DMV (District, Maryland, and Virginia).  I just joined last week and am so excited to learn that there are so many wonderful bloggers, artists, and fashion designers here in the DMV.  Who knew right?  Almost everyone thinks we are all business around here!  Well, we are but we do it in style!  It's not only suits and blazers!

I am so excited to be a part of this group too b/c I would have never of known about Little by Darin Michelle.  She posted a message Challenging CapFABBers to take one piece of her Spring 2012 collection and style the pieces.  Well not only did I take on the challenge, but I also became hooked on her designs! I love it!  They are simple and personal!  When you get time you MUST check her pieces out!  It probably helps that she has some pretty good lookin' models wearing them too.

I chose her "Home Sweet Home" tee for my Springspriation b/c I am from Maryland and b/c I love it so much.  The weather here has been so back and forth lately I decided to create a style that makes me truly think of Spring and travel!

Motivational Monday - Dance it Out!!

So things have been kind of a bummer in my life lately.  Don't get me wrong I am a super happy person, but I tend to take on more things then I think I can sometimes handle, and I worry a lot for my family members....A LOT.  Okay, Okay, way more than A LOT.  But I love them so much that I can't help it.

Also, the weather has been kind of sucky. It won't snow, yes I am praying for a big snow storm that keeps us home, but yet, keeps us all safe.  Instead we are getting this hot/cold rainy nonsense.  It is making me sick and depressed.  Then I watch the news and I am so sad for those in the Mid-West and South that it makes my funk go even lower b/c I can't be there to help all those helpless people.  My heart goes out to each and everyone of you affected by mother natures terror!

A couple of weeks ago I started this little tradition with my girls when I drop them off to the daycare at their school.  We have now made it a point to do this and I have found that it starts my day positive and motivates me to remember to be positive throughout the day.  And sometimes when I feel myself getting sad again, I remember this little number and it either makes me laugh or makes me get up out of my chair and do it all over again!

So for this Motivational Monday, although we may feel silly doing so, I motivate everyone to get up and "Dance It Out!!" You will be surprised about how good you feel after you do it.  To take it one step further I am challenging each of you to start your morning like this!  Let me know how you feel once you start doing it.

Fashion Friday - Time to Accessorize

Happy Fashion Friday everyone!!  This week I am focusing on accessories! I am an accessory addict. Anything and everything that has to do with accessorizing I just love.  I am not one to go uber crazy with those independent consultants but I do have to show you something I had to purchase from a Cookie Lee Party that I had gone to.

My Bow accessories!  I LOVE them! They are so awesome and sparkly!! I can't remember how much they cost, I think all together it was about $90.  So a little pricey but they were so pretty I couldn't resist getting them.

I also wear these often as well.  These are my zebra and big rose collection.  All of which were purchased at Claire's.  Ok, I feel kind of dumb when I say that b/c I instantly think of Claire's as being a "tween" store, but my daughters love it there, and I find a lot of cute things there as well, hence the zebra earrings (I get more compliments on these earrings than I do any other piece of jewelry).

Accessorizing is so important! I never leave home with out accessories! EVER!  Accessorizing can jazz up old ensembles that need a boost or to just give it a whole new look.  Like I did in a previous Fashion Friday post!

Before I put my outfit on, I place pieces with the outfit of the day and mix and match accessories.  This helps me determine what will be worn and what won't.
