Bring it back to the Classics!

I love the old days, Greta Garbo, Marilyn, Jane Russell...the list goes on and on.  The best part about them is their makeup looks are timeless and can be worn on a daily basis still to this day.  Okay, well maybe not the Fire Engine red lips but the majority of the look is perfect no matter the occassion.  Here is a Classic Pin Up look channeling all the classic beauty icons.  This video is one of my longer ones because I go in to more detail about how I did my "face." & there I didn't name the products I was using because it doesn't matter who made the colors, only that similar colors were used.

For the Eyes - Almost all the colors are Matte!
  1. Use a shadow that is a few shades lighter than your skin tone and blend it over the entire lid.  Then use another that is the same shade as your skin tone and blend that color from the crease to the brow.
  2. Next, use a matte medium brown in the crease, and a shimmery white right under the brow bone, in the tear ducts, under the lower lash line and right next to the side of your outer part of your eye.
  3. Wing out your black eyeliner using either Fluid (liquid) or gel
  4. Line the lower waterline with a white eyeliner pencil
  • OPTIONAL - use black eyeliner (pencil & see video) for the lower lash line
For your cheeks - Use and pink or coral blush on the apples of your cheeks

For your lips - Any fire engine red will do (I used Hard Candy's On the Prowl lipstick)

CONTOURING & HIGHLIGHTING - See Picture for all the spots....See Video for how to do it! haha

The areas you want to CONTOUR!

The areas you want to HIGHLIGHT!

EWWW SCARY!!
HAHAHA!

Here is everything in ACTION! Enjoy!

Birchbox's were sent extremely late this month....BOOO! But they have finally arrived so here is the video. Below the video is the details (size & price of the products) and the review of Decembers products!

January's contents
  • Ahava, Dermud Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream, Full Size: 4.2 fl oz - $28
  • Dr. Dennis Gross, Alpha Beta Peel, Full Size: 10 applications - $35
  • myfaceworks, Sheet Mask, Full Size: 6 masks - $55
  • Oscar Blandi, Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum, Full Size: 34ml - $24
  • Zhena's Gypsy Tea, Coconut Chai Black Tea, Full Size: 22 sachets - $7.99
December Review
  • Blow, Heat is On Protective Styling Mist, Full Size: 8.5 fl oz - $18
    • I LOVE THIS!  This has proctected my hair for heat and damage and keeps it shiny and healthy!
  • Jouer, Luminizing Moisture Tint, Full Size: 1.7 oz - $38
    • I LOVE THIS!  This product I was weary of at first but quickly fell in love with it.  It gives my face a natural glow which is nice during the winter!  It comes in 5 shades to match your skin tone!
  • Stila, Lip Glaze in Kitten, Full Size: .08 oz - $22
    • This is Okay.  For the price I am not sure if it is even worth it.  I don't like the color, although Kitten is my all time fav shade for eyeshadows by Stila.  I don't really like it as a lip shade.  Also, the gloss is super sticky and doesn't last.
  • Serge Luetens, L'Eau Fragrance, Full Size: 50 ml - $105
    • This is also Okay.  Yes the scent is fresh and lovely <--even though I don't care for perfumes but I will never spend that amount on a perfume.  This is just my opinion.
Here is Birchbox's website where you can sign up if you are interested.
P.S. I am not being paid by Birchbox or any of the companies mentioned in this post for the reviews of these products. I am simply just running my mouth! ;o)

How to: Winged Eyeliner

Hi Everyone!  So, I received a request on how to do winged eyeliner.  Here is a quick and easy to follow tutorial on how to achieve it.  Remember - IT TAKES PRACTICE! Lots & Lots of PRACTICE.

It maybe helpful to use liquid eyeliner first to practice the "winged" shape you want.  Then using the right kind of tools you will be able to use gel liner for a smoother winged eye!

Hope you all enjoy! Flying Off!

Revolution Post-Figuring out what I've Got

Ok for the first step of this revolution is to sit down and figure out what I've got to get rid of.

So I have four credit cards totallying a whopping $13,126.23.

I found this awesome website that offers a debt calculator that allows you to figure out how much debt you have and helps you determine the information you need to know about it, like how long it will take to you pay it off, how much interest you will be paying, and how much you need to pay each month to pay it off in a certain time.

http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/debtplanner/debtplanner.jsp

So here is where I put in all my credit card information.  The second step is to choose the plan you want to do with the information.  There are 3 options: Minimum Payments, Fixed-Payments, & Debt-Free Deadline.  I will be choosing the Debt-Free Deadline of 1 year 6 months.

Here is what my pie chart comes out to looking like:

If you look on the top of the page, I have replaced my weightloss ticker (from tickerfactory.com) with a new debt-ticker (also from tickerfactory.com).  Each time I pay one of these credit cards I will update the ticker so I can watch how I am progressing towards my goal!

Here is to becoming Debt-Free in 2011 (and part of 2012...hahahaha)!

Greens, Golds, & Benjamins!

A Modern Mod!

So I absolutly love this look & where it to work all the time. It incorporates the 1960's "Mod" look in a modern way. Here is what I used:

For the eyes

  • A dark brown - NOT black for the outer edges of my eyes and under my lash line (I used one from my Sephora Color Diary Palette)
  • A dark sparkly gray or silver - to blend out the dark brown (Again from the Sephora Color Diary Palette)
  • A shimery sliver/white (a little darker then the shimery white you will be using next) (Urban Decay's Uzi)
  • A Shimery White - to make the eyes pop and for underneath the lash line (Sephora Color Diary Palette)
  • A White eyeliner pencil - for the lower water line (I used N.Y.C.)
  • Black eyeliner gel (Maybelline)

For the Cheeks

  • Pinky Peach Blush for the cheeks (Sephora Color Diary)

 For the Mouth

  •  Revlon color stay lip liner in Rose

  •  MAC Venomous Villains Lip frost in Resort Life

Enjoy!

Ruby Pumps!

Hi All!  I wanted to shout out to my BFF TinaMarie1884 who gave me this awesome nail polish for Christmas!

I don't think this picture does the color justice however, it is China Glaze's Ruby Pumps.  I looks like the took the color straight from Dorothy's shoes and bottled it up in to this AHHHMAZING nail polish for me to enjoy.

I don't like the way the nail polish looks all by itself so I try to make up my own little nail art to jazz it up a bit.  Here is the tutorial on how to get this extremely easy look!

What you will need:

  • Any nail polish color of your choice (I chose my Ruby Pumps!)
  • Q-Tips for corrections
  • Black & White Nail Art Colors (or actually any color your want) I used Kiss Nail Art --These have the perfect brushes to make thin lines
  • Top Coat- I used Sally Hansen Acrylic Top Coat
 Happy Painting!

A New Year, A New Revolution

Hi Everyone!  Okay, so one year ago today I began a weightloss revolution.  I lost 26.4 lbs this past year....not all of what I wanted to loose but a majority of it.  I think I have to say that last years revolution was a success.  This year I am still going to try to shed that last 10 lbs but I am not going to stress over it this year.

You can go back to here to see the program I did.

&& You can go back here to see the finish of the program.

& Just to recap.  I have not gained or lost any weight since I finished the program!!

So Now what is this years revolution?  Well watch below for your answer.  It's a lot easier to tell you then to type it.  WARNING:  I tend to talk a little too much in these videos!  Also, I was totally driving while fliming!

So here is to a new year & a new revolution!
